Writer | Screenwriter

Thomas Dufour is a playwright, screenwriter and director from Lac-Saint-Jean, now living in Montreal. His play Maison seule won the Prix Gratien-Gélinas 2023 and was performed at Monument-National, directed by Philippe Boutin. In 2024, he won the grand prize in the Cours écrire ton court competition for his screenplay Garage double. The film is currently in production.

He has written the libretto for an augmented reality opera for the Opéra de Montréal, to be presented in 2025, and is currently working on the script for his first TV series, Payés. For the past year, he has been co-writing a series with playwright Michel Marc Bouchard.

Alongside his writing career, he produces podcasts for Radio-Canada (Sais-tu quoi?, On s’appelle et on déjeune). With a B.A. in journalism (2019) from UQAM, he explores ways of transforming reality into fiction, and of telling the stories of others to bring out the laughter and poetry.

Thomas is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Playwriting program (2022).
