Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais
Director
Director Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais’ first feature film Whitewash won the Best New Narrative Director award at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Best Feature by a First-Time Director at the Canadian Screen Awards.
His second feature film Birthmarked, staring Toni Colette and Matthew Goode, will be released in USA March 30th, 2018, in Canada later this spring.
Emanuel has directed over 500 hundreds of ad campaigns over the past decade. Many of these spots have won prizes in festivals in Cannes, New York, London and Toronto. Emanuel was also honored with the Best Directing Award at the CREA AWARDS in 2004, 2007, 2008 and nominated for the same award in 2005. He equally won the Best Directing Award at the Canadian Marketing Awards in 2011.
The latest of his three shorts, Marius Borodine, received numerous awards. He cut a large amount of television spots and played in numerous plays, films and TV series. He still stubbornly conserves his side-line career as an actor. Try spotting him in the The Day after Tomorrow trailer…
