Clara Milo

Raised in Montreal, Director Clara Milo’s bohemian entourage and early exposure to art have influenced her to push the boundaries of narrative aesthetics tirelessly. Whether on paper or behind the lens, Milo’s otherworldly storylines most often gravitate around magic realism, which she thrives to pair with raw, heart-wrenching performances. In April 2022, she won the very first Denis Villeneuve Coup-de-Coeur Award for her monumental short film ASKA at the Gala Prends Ça Court, adding to an array of festival prizes and recognition.

Now gearing up for her debut feature film SOLASTALGIA, Clara seeks to popularize the genre of environmental fiction, wherein the sublime may arise through the characterization of Nature.
